ADR & IMDG Security Training

Why train? In recent times the security of Dangerous Goods being transported by Road, Rail, Sea and Air has been recognised as an area of serious concern. Both the ADR 2005, (Road) and IMDG 2004, (Sea) have included new sections requiring training of relevant personnel.  

Legislation- International: ADR (ROAD) European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code - (IMDG), 2004  

Purpose of the training: Security means measures or precautions to be taken to minimise or eliminate the theft or misuse of Dangerous Goods that may endanger persons, property or the environment. All those involved in the transport of Dangerous Goods should adopt, implement and comply with a security plan that addresses these requirements. Pending Irish regulations, due in late 2005 will impose substantial penalties on those who fail to comply.  

Who should attend this course? Transport Managers, Chemical Hauliers, Warehouse personnel, Forklift operators, Freight forwarders staff, Shipping Company personnel.  

Course Duration: - 1 day.

Course Content:

Nature of security risks Identification of "High Consequence Dangerous Goods"
Recognising security risks Preparation of a Security Plan
Methods to address and reduce security risks Liaising with the Garda Siochana.
Actions to be taken in the event of a security breach

Examination: Participant Certification.

Course Fees: Course fees include all relevant course materials, study aids, lunches and tea/coffee at breaks.
