Why train? The training of personnel involved in the handling of dangerous goods in a workplace environment is a legislative requirement, both nationally and as members of the EU. Non compliance with this legislation can result in substantial fines for all parties involved in these activities.

Purpose of the training: To give personnel a thorough understanding of the hazards presented by dangerous goods and to acquaint them with the rules and regulations involved. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that all staff are properly trained.
Who should attend this course?
1) Personnel involved in the packing, loading and/or unloading of vehicles carrying dangerous goods.
2) Personnel involved in administrative activities involving chemicals.
3) Shore based personnel involved in the packing, loading and/or unloading of shipping vessels carrying dangerous goods.
4) Others, who are at risk of potential exposure to hazardous chemicals in any workplace.
Course Duration: 1 day.
Course Content: Introduction to the required legislation Chemical Identification & Classification Hazard recognition. Chemical terminology. Sources of information - MSDS, Labels & TREMcards Personal Protective Equipment Chemical First Aid Spillage Guidelines
Examination: While there is no formal exam, HazChem Training Ltd will issue Training Certificates based on successful completion of a case study and multiple choice question examination.
