Why train?

In order to apply for an Transport Operators Licence a person must meet the requirements of good repute, appropriate financial standing and professional competence. The CPC qualification fulfils the third part of this requirement and ensures there are no barriers to prevent an operator from plying his/her trade.

Legislation: Road Transport Act 1986 and Road Transport Act 2001  

Purpose of the training : To ensure Transport Operators understand the wide range of responsibilities and duties involved in the set-up and day to day running of a successful transport business  

Who should attend this course? Persons wishing to set up a Transport Company Persons who wish to seek employment as a Transport Manager Persons who wish to improve their prospects of promotion within a transport department.

Course Duration: The Intensive Course - 14 days. (Part-time evening courses also available)  

Course Content: Introduction to Haulage and Passenger Transport Operations Setting up a Road Transport Business Access to the Road Transport Market Transport Operations Management Financial Management Technical Standards Civil, Commercial & Social Legislation Conventions and Documentation Route Planning and Road Safety

Examination: The CPC examination is organised by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. There are three examinations each year, in January, June and September. Exam applications are organised as part of the course.

Then next available exam is Friday 7th September 2007. Course will start in July for this exam.

Course Fees: Fees include Training, Manuals & Study Aids. Lunches, tea & coffee are also provided on the Intensive Course.
