Occupational First Aid Training

Why train? All workplaces are required to appoint one or more First Aiders. While this is a legislative requirement it also makes good common sense!

Legislation-National: The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005

Purpose of the training .To provide candidates with a thorough knowledge of the Basic First Aid skills required to be an Occupational First Aider in the work environment.

Who should attend this course? Environmental safety officers, Occupational health nurses, Persons interested in acting as first aiders iin the workplace

Course Duration: The Course lasts 3 days.

Course Content:

Assessment & accident scene management
Fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations
Circulation, wounds and bleeding Burns and scalds,
Respiration,Asphyxia Chemicals/poisons
Introduction to CPR Electric shock
Cardio pulmonary resuscitation Medical emergencies
Unconsciousness Crush and spinal injuries

Examination: Candidates will be examined by a registered First Aid Examiner to a standard set by the National Ambulance Training School . This exam is both written and practical.

Course Fees: All course fees include all relevant course materials, study aids, lunches and tea/coffee at breaks.Fee for in-company course available on request.
